Why Doreen Homeowners Choose Roller Blinds
Doreen sits 29 kilometres north-east of Melbourne’s CBD in the City of Whittlesea, bordered by Plenty Gorge Parklands to the west and Yan Yean Road to the east. It’s a suburb of modern family homes — predominantly 3 and 4 bedroom properties with open-plan living areas, large windows, and outdoor entertaining spaces. These features make roller blinds the most practical and popular window furnishing choice in the suburb.
Here’s why roller blinds suit Doreen homes specifically:
- Large windows and sliding glass doors — Doreen homes frequently feature floor-to-ceiling glazing. Roller blinds provide clean, flush coverage with no bulky hardware, preserving the open, airy feel of modern interiors.
- West and north-west facing exposure — Doreen streets run in orientations that expose many living areas and bedrooms to intense afternoon and evening sun. Sunscreen and blockout roller blinds manage heat and glare without sacrificing the view toward the Plenty Gorge Parklands.
- Family households — Doreen’s median age is 33 and the predominant household type is couples with children. Blockout blinds in children’s bedrooms are consistently one of our most requested installations in the area.
- New and established homes both needing upgrades — Whether you’ve just moved into a recently built home or you’re replacing builder-grade window coverings, our custom-made blinds are cut to your exact window dimensions — not off-the-shelf approximations.
- Smart home adoption — Doreen’s younger demographic is increasingly building homes with smart home infrastructure. Our motorised roller blinds integrate with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit.
Our Roller Blind Range for Doreen Homes
Every roller blind we supply is custom-manufactured at our Campbellfield facility. We do not sell pre-made imports or stock sizes. Your blinds are cut, assembled, and quality-checked to your exact window measurements before they leave our factory.
Blockout Roller Blinds
Blockout roller blinds use a triple-weave fabric that blocks 100% of light when fully lowered. They’re our most popular product in Doreen — especially for bedrooms and homes with young children.
Ideal for:
- Master bedrooms and children’s bedrooms — especially east-facing rooms that receive early morning sun
- Nurseries and toddler bedrooms requiring daytime darkness for sleep routines
- Home theatres, media rooms, and gaming spaces
- Any room requiring full privacy after dark
Available in a wide range of colours and textures to suit any interior. Fabric edges are precision-cut to minimise side-light gaps.
Sunscreen Roller Blinds
Sunscreen blinds filter UV rays and reduce glare while preserving your outward view — they’re perfect for living areas, dining rooms, and home offices overlooking Doreen’s parks and green spaces. Openness factors range from 1% (maximum UV block) to 10% (lighter filtering). Our consultants recommend the right openness factor based on your room’s orientation during your in-home consultation.
Translucent (Light-Filtering) Roller Blinds
Translucent fabrics diffuse natural light softly without blocking it — creating a bright, comfortable room without harsh glare. Popular in bathrooms, studies, and north-facing rooms that benefit from maximum daylight with UV protection.
Dual Roller Blinds
Two fabrics — typically a sunscreen and a blockout — mounted on a single bracket system. You get full flexibility: open-view filter during the day, complete darkness at night. Our most popular configuration for main bedrooms and living areas in Doreen where homeowners want both functions without running two separate blind systems.
Motorised Roller Blinds
Our motorised roller blinds are operated by remote control, wall switch, smartphone app, or voice command. Compatible with:
- Google Home — control via Google Assistant voice commands
- Amazon Alexa — works with all Echo devices
- Apple HomeKit — control via Siri and the iPhone Home app
Particularly suited to Doreen homes with large windows, multiple blinds, or high windows where reaching across furniture or climbing to operate cords is inconvenient. Our team handles the full installation including motor fitting, WiFi connection, and app setup. Everything is working before we leave.
Lace Roller Blinds
Decorative lace patterns add visual texture and softness to feature rooms — popular in dining areas and formal living spaces. Provides daytime privacy while allowing diffused light through.
Our Measure, Manufacture & Installation Process
We handle every stage in-house. We do not subcontract measuring, manufacturing, or installation. Every person who visits your home is part of the New World of Blinds team.

No vague estimates — you’ll know the exact cost of every blind before you commit.
2 Custom Manufacturing — Your blinds are cut and assembled at our Campbellfield factory using premium fabrics and components. We manufacture to your exact window dimensions — not cut-down stock sizes. Every blind is quality-checked before leaving our facility.
3 Professional Installation — Our team returns on an agreed date, bracket-mounts every blind level and true, checks operation, and trims any minor fitting adjustments on-site. We leave your home clean and tidy.
4 5-Year Warranty — Every product and installation is covered by our 5-year warranty. If anything develops a fault — fabric, mechanism, motor, or bracket — we return to repair or replace it at no cost. This covers both manufacturing defects and installation issues.
Roller Blinds for New and Recently Built Homes in Doreen
If you’ve moved into a new Doreen home in the past few years, you’ll know that builders typically don’t include window furnishings. This is the most common situation we handle in Doreen.
A typical 4-bedroom Doreen home has between 15 and 25 windows and doors that need covering. New World of Blinds offers:
- Whole-home packages — we measure all windows in one visit and install in one return visit, minimising disruption to your household.
- Stage-by-stage installation — if you’re furnishing room by room as budget allows, we can return for additional rooms with no minimum order.
- New estate expertise — we’ve worked in Doreen’s established streets and newer housing pockets and understand the window profiles and sun orientations common in the area.
- Builder and developer pricing — if you’re a builder or investor managing multiple Doreen properties, contact us to discuss volume pricing and project scheduling.
