Sheer Curtains Diggers Rest — Custom Made for Lifestyle Properties & New Homes, 5-Year Warranty
Diggers Rest is one of the most distinctive communities on Melbourne’s outer western fringe — a place where people have chosen space, privacy, and a genuinely semi-rural lifestyle over suburban density. Homes here sit on generous blocks with open outlooks, and the connection to light, landscape, and the sky is something residents actively value. At New World of Blinds, we’ve been supplying and installing custom sheer curtains for homes across the Sunbury corridor and outer western fringe since 2005, manufacturing everything at our Campbellfield facility and regularly servicing properties in Diggers Rest and the surrounding area.
As a family-owned business run by Matt and Oz, we bring nearly two decades of hands-on experience to every home we visit. Every sheer curtain is custom-made at our Campbellfield facility to your exact window dimensions, installed by our own team — not subcontractors — and backed by our full 5-year warranty.
Wave/ S-Fold Curtains Diggers Rest
Wave/S-Fold curtains are one of the most popular types of curtains. Wave/S-fold curtains are the curtains that look just like a wave or a long S pattern that continues for the length of the window/wall and its covering. The soft flowing wave effect allows the fabric to drape stunningly, and the overall appearance creates a modern, trending look to your room/covering. Wave/S-fold curtains add a touch of class and elegance to your home.
Pleated Curtains
Eyelet Curtains
Eyelet curtains are where the top of the curtain has round eyelets or grommets pressed into the fabric. The curtain is then threaded onto a track/pole that threads through each of the eyelets in a wave like formation.
Why Sheer Curtains Are the Right Choice for Diggers Rest Properties
Homes in Diggers Rest are defined by their relationship to space and natural light — large windows designed to capture wide outlooks, generous rooms that bring the outside in, and an indoor-outdoor connection that’s fundamental to the lifestyle people come here for. Sheer curtains are uniquely well-suited to this context.
Unlike roller blinds or blockout curtains that close off a view entirely, sheer curtains maintain the visual connection to the outside while managing the practical challenges of large glazed areas: filtering direct sun that would otherwise create glare and heat, providing daytime privacy without sacrificing the outlook, and protecting floors, furniture, and furnishings from UV damage. For Diggers Rest properties where the view is one of the reasons you chose the property, sheer curtains are the window treatment that lets you keep it.
Sheer curtains deliver for Diggers Rest homes:
- Preserve wide outlooks and garden views while filtering direct sunlight and managing glare
- Provide daytime privacy without obscuring the connection to sky, garden, or paddock
- UV protection for quality flooring, furniture, and furnishings from sun fading
- Solar heat gain reduction through large west and north-facing windows in summer
- Soft, filtered natural light that suits the open, relaxed interior character of lifestyle homes
- Layering foundation for complete day-to-night control with blockout curtains
- Smart home compatibility with motorised curtain tracks.
Sheer Curtain Styles for Diggers Rest Homes
We offer four heading styles. Our team brings physical fabric samples to your Diggers Rest home during the free measure and quote visit.
S-Fold / Wave Curtains
S-Fold curtains are our most installed style across Melbourne and a strong choice for both the larger lifestyle homes and the newer estate builds in Diggers Rest. The track-mounted clip system creates a continuous, perfectly uniform wave that suits the spacious rooms and generous window configurations common in this area. Installed on a ceiling-mounted track, S-Fold sheers give a seamless floor-to-ceiling appearance that maximises the sense of height and space in large rooms — complementing the openness that defines Diggers Rest’s best interiors. They also integrate naturally with motorised curtain tracks.
Eyelet Curtains
Eyelet curtains thread onto a decorative rod through metal grommets, creating a relaxed, looping wave. For Diggers Rest’s country-style and lifestyle homes, eyelet sheer curtains on a decorative timber or wrought iron rod suit the warm, unpretentious aesthetic that many properties in this area carry. In a home that values comfort and connection to the outdoors over architectural precision, the eyelet style’s casual, natural quality is exactly right.
Linen Sheer Curtains — The Natural Choice for Lifestyle Properties
Linen sheer curtains are our most recommended fabric for Diggers Rest and the broader outer western lifestyle property market. The heavier hand and naturally textured weave of linen sheers bring an organic warmth and rural quality that suits homes with exposed timber beams, stone features, natural fibre rugs, and the earthy, grounded interiors common in semi-rural Melbourne properties. Linen sheers in warm white, raw linen, or soft natural tones sit in complete harmony with the landscape-connected aesthetic that Diggers Rest homeowners work toward in their interiors. They are also highly durable — an important quality for properties where the curtains will be used for many years.
Pleated Curtains
Pleated heading styles create a structured, classic curtain silhouette suited to formal dining rooms and sitting areas. For Diggers Rest homes with country-style formal rooms — particularly the older, more established lifestyle properties with classic interior finishes — a pleated sheer in fine voile adds an understated elegance that suits the property’s overall character.
Layering Sheer Curtains with Blockout Curtains
The double-track layered system is highly practical for Diggers Rest properties, particularly in bedrooms. During the day, draw the sheers alone to filter direct sunlight and maintain the outlook from bedroom windows. At night or for complete darkness, draw the blockout layer. For Diggers Rest properties on larger blocks where streetlighting is minimal, the blockout layer may be less critical in some rooms than in suburban locations — but for bedrooms that face east and receive early morning light, it remains the most effective sleep solution available.
The layered system also provides meaningful thermal insulation — valuable for Diggers Rest homes in Melbourne’s outer west where summer heat and winter cold are both more pronounced than in the inner suburbs. Two layers of fabric across large windows make a real difference to the performance of ducted or hydronic heating and cooling systems.

Frequently Asked Question - FAQs
Do you supply and install sheer curtains in Diggers Rest?
Yes. New World of Blinds supplies and installs custom sheer curtains throughout Diggers Rest and across the surrounding outer western Melbourne area including Sunbury, Rockbank, Melton, Caroline Springs, and Bulla. All curtains are custom-made at our Campbellfield manufacturing facility and installed by our own team. Call 0422 786 077 to book a free in-home measure and quote.
Can sheer curtains preserve the view from a lifestyle property in Diggers Rest?
Yes — and this is the primary reason most Diggers Rest homeowners choose sheer curtains for their main living areas. Sheer curtains filter and diffuse direct sunlight while maintaining the visual connection to your garden, paddock, or open outlook. Unlike a roller blind or blockout curtain that closes off the view entirely, a quality sheer curtain manages the light and provides daytime privacy while keeping you connected to the outdoors. For lifestyle properties where the view is part of the reason you chose the property, sheer curtains are the only window treatment that solves the practical problem without sacrificing the outlook.
What sheer curtain style suits a lifestyle or acreage home in Diggers Rest?
For Diggers Rest’s lifestyle homes, linen sheer curtains are our most recommended fabric — their organic texture and warm, natural character suit the earthy interiors common in semi-rural properties. For heading style, eyelet curtains on a decorative rod suit country-style and relaxed informal homes; S-Fold curtains suit more contemporary homes with larger windows and open-plan layouts. Our team brings samples to your property during the free measure visit.
How much do sheer curtains cost for a Diggers Rest property?
Cost depends on fabric type, heading style, window dimensions, and the number of rooms or windows. Diggers Rest properties often have larger window configurations than suburban homes, which we measure precisely — every curtain is custom-made to your exact dimensions. Because we manufacture at our own Campbellfield facility, our pricing reflects direct wholesale rates without a retail markup. Book a free in-home measure and quote for an accurate price. Call 0422 786 077.
Can I layer sheer curtains with blockout curtains in a Diggers Rest home?
Yes. The double-track layered system — sheer curtains on the inner track, blockout curtains on the outer — gives independent control over light and privacy at any time. For Diggers Rest bedrooms that face east and receive early morning light, the blockout layer ensures complete darkness for quality sleep. During the day, draw the sheers alone to filter the light while preserving the outlook from your bedroom windows.
