Sheer Curtains Fawkner — Manufactured Next Door in Campbellfield, Installed at Your Door
If you’re looking for sheer curtains in Fawkner, the manufacturer is one suburb over. New World of Blinds operates from 11/10 Production Drive, Campbellfield — the suburb that borders Fawkner directly to the north. We’ve been making and installing custom curtains and blinds for homes in this part of Melbourne since 2005, and Fawkner residents are among the closest to our manufacturing facility of any suburb we service.
As a family-owned business run by Matt and Oz, we handle every stage of the process ourselves — free in-home measure and quote, custom manufacturing at our Campbellfield facility, and professional installation by our own team, never subcontractors. Every sheer curtain is custom-made to your exact window measurements and backed by our full 5-year warranty.
Wave/ S-Fold Curtains, Fawkner -
Wave/S-Fold curtains are one of the most popular types of curtains. Wave/S-fold curtains are the curtains that look just like a wave or a long S pattern that continues for the length of the window/wall and its covering. The soft flowing wave effect allows the fabric to drape stunningly, and the overall appearance creates a modern, trending look to your room/covering. Wave/S-fold curtains add a touch of class and elegance to your home.
Pleated Curtains
Eyelet Curtains
Eyelet curtains are where the top of the curtain has round eyelets or grommets pressed into the fabric. The curtain is then threaded onto a track/pole that threads through each of the eyelets in a wave like formation.
What It Means for Fawkner Residents to Have a Manufacturer Next Door
Fawkner sits at the boundary between Melbourne’s inner northern suburbs and the Hume industrial corridor where our Campbellfield facility is based. This proximity translates into genuine, practical advantages for Fawkner homeowners that no national retailer or online supplier can match.
- Fast turnaround: your curtains are manufactured locally, not shipped from interstate or overseas — typical lead times of 2 to 4 weeks
- Direct wholesale pricing: no importer, no distributor, no retail chain between the manufacturer and your home
- Custom sizing: every curtain cut to your exact window measurements at our Campbellfield facility
- Local accountability: if anything requires attention under our 5-year warranty, the team responsible is in the next suburb
- Community connection: as a family business in the northern corridor, Fawkner is genuinely part of our home service area — not a fringe delivery location.
Why Fawkner Homes Choose Sheer Curtains
Fawkner’s established residential housing — predominantly post-war brick homes across the suburb’s grid of streets — suits sheer curtains across a range of room types and priorities. North-facing living rooms receive strong midday sun that benefits from the filtering quality of sheer curtains. West-facing bedrooms and kitchens receive hot afternoon sun in Melbourne’s summers that sheer curtains manage effectively by diffusing rather than blocking. And across the home, the soft, warm quality of well-chosen sheer curtains makes an established brick home feel genuinely comfortable and cared for.
Fawkner’s diverse, community-oriented character means different households bring different priorities to window furnishings. For long-term families who have lived in their homes for decades and want to refresh tired window coverings, sheer curtains represent a significant, lasting upgrade. For newer families moving into the suburb, sheers are often the first quality window furnishing installed — an upgrade from builder-grade or off-the-shelf alternatives that doesn’t require a major renovation budget.
Sheer curtains deliver for Fawkner homes:
- Soft, diffused natural light throughout the day in living areas and bedrooms
- Daytime privacy from Fawkner’s residential streets without closing off natural light
- UV protection for established floors, carpets, and long-standing furniture from sun fading
- Solar heat gain reduction on north and west-facing windows in Melbourne’s summers
- A warm, welcoming finish that improves the feel and presentation of any room
- Durability — quality fabrics that perform reliably for many years without replacement
- Full layering capability with blockout curtains for complete day-to-night control.
Sheer Curtain Styles for Fawkner Homes
We offer four heading styles. Our team brings physical fabric samples to your Fawkner home during the free measure and quote visit.
S-Fold / Wave Curtains
S-Fold curtains are our most manufactured and installed style across Melbourne. The track-mounted clip system creates a continuous, perfectly uniform wave that suits contemporary updates in Fawkner’s established homes — renovated kitchens, updated living areas, and bedrooms where a clean, modern finish is the goal. Installed on a ceiling-mounted track, S-Fold sheers give a seamless floor-to-ceiling appearance that makes rooms feel taller and more considered. They also integrate naturally with motorised curtain tracks for homeowners setting up smart home systems.
Eyelet Curtains
Eyelet curtains thread onto a decorative rod through metal grommets in the fabric header, creating a relaxed, looping wave. For Fawkner’s established family homes where the brief is warmth and comfort rather than architectural precision, eyelet sheer curtains in natural voile or linen fabrics bring exactly the right soft, inviting quality to living rooms, bedrooms, and informal spaces where everyday family life happens. They are straightforward to operate and easy to maintain.
Linen Sheer Curtains
Linen sheer curtains are one of our most popular options for northern Melbourne family homes and a strong choice for Fawkner. The heavier hand and naturally textured weave of linen sheers bring warmth and organic character to rooms that lightweight voile can leave feeling too thin — particularly in Fawkner’s brick homes where rooms can feel austere without soft furnishings. In warm white or natural linen tones, linen sheers add the warmth and texture that transforms an established home without a full renovation. They are also highly durable — an important quality for families who want window furnishings that last.
Pleated Curtains
Pleated heading styles create a structured, classic curtain silhouette suited to formal dining rooms and defined room layouts. For Fawkner homes with traditional interior arrangements where a more tailored finish is preferred in specific rooms, a pleated sheer in fine voile adds an understated elegance.
Layering Sheer Curtains with Blockout Curtains
The double-track layered system — sheer curtains on the inner track, blockout curtains on the outer — is the most complete window treatment solution we manufacture and install. For Fawkner family homes, it gives full independent control over light and privacy throughout the day and night.
For north-facing living rooms, draw the sheers during the day for soft, filtered light and daytime privacy. In the evening, draw the blockout layer for complete privacy. For bedrooms with east-facing windows that catch early morning light, the blockout layer delivers complete darkness when you need it. Because both layers are manufactured at our neighbouring Campbellfield facility, they are quality-checked together before installation at your Fawkner home.

What sheer curtain style works best for an established Fawkner family home?
For Fawkner’s established brick homes, S-Fold sheers suit updated or open-plan living areas where a clean contemporary finish is the goal. Eyelet sheer curtains in linen fabric are our most recommended option for bedrooms and informal living spaces where warmth and a relaxed feel are the priority. Linen sheer fabrics in warm white or natural linen tones are consistently popular for Fawkner’s family homes because their organic warmth and durability suit established interiors and long-term family use. We bring samples to your home during the free measure visit.
Can I layer sheer curtains with blockout curtains in a Fawkner home?
Yes. The double-track layered system — sheer curtains on the inner track, blockout curtains on the outer — is our most recommended approach for Fawkner family homes, particularly in bedrooms. Sheer curtains handle daytime light and privacy; blockout curtains deliver complete darkness in the evening and overnight. Both layers are manufactured at our Campbellfield facility next door, quality-checked together, and installed as a complete system by our own team in a single visit.
